GR UK in two WRAP Sponsored Trials
Gypsum Recycling UK Ltd is leading the “Plasterboard collection trials at various Local Authority Facilities in the UK”. This trial is designed to research methods of capturing, collecting and transporting plasterboard at a variety of Civic Amenity and Household Waste Recycling Centres. The 15 participating centres have been selected as a representative spread of geographic, demographic and commercially viable situations. The trial will actively promote capturing and recovering plasterboard waste from this market and continually monitor the effectiveness of the collection by this method. Analysis of the quantative and qualative data gathered will be used to develop best practice methods and promote ongoing commercial activity following the completion of the trial. In partnership with Skanska, the leading international construction company, Gypsum Recycling UK Ltd is undertaking the WRAP Trial “Demonstration Projects that illustrate how the barriers to collecting and segregating plasterboard and gypsum waste, generated from construction and demolition sites, can be overcome” . Gypsum Recycling UK Ltd is the collection, transportation and recycling contractor for this trial that is being undertaken at various major construction projects throughout the UK, including the refurbishment of the former Home Office Building in Queen Anne’s Gate, St. James, London.
